My memory is a little foggy about all this hassle that began over a year ago. It was Bill who took care of the sign up and all the details. I remember though, the DirecTV ad for basic service at $19.95 per month, and Bill calling in during this ad so we could get this. I remember that he didn’t sign up immediately because DirecTV told him he had called in a day too late and they could only offer us the Total Choice package for around $37 per month. He was quite peeved about this when he was asking me if I still wanted to sign up for the service. But it was okay with me, so Bill called back and signed up.
Three months later Bill came and told me that the Total Choice deal had stopped and that he had called in to get our service back to basic for a lower price. The extra channels stopped working right after he told me about this. Three months later the service stopped completely and Bill came and told me that it was because DirecTV was billing him for almost twice what he had agreed to with the DirecTV phone representative and he had been only paying what he had agreed to, $27 per month for basic service.
I’m upset with all of this. I was going to school at the time the service was working and didn’t watch TV too much, but I did enjoy the news and an occasional movie when I didn’t have my nose buried in a school book. Now I’m a busy person working in the medical field as a manager and I still don’t have too much time for TV, but I do miss it on occasion. I can see Bill’s point about being lied to by DirecTV over the phone, and then having them attempt to extort money from him (and me), but I just want to watch TV once in awhile.
